Hey everyone, welcome back to another day in the writing challenge series. The challenge that was given today is kind of similar to the one that we did earlier but with a small difference. Let’s see what is the difference and how your result should change accordingly.
The Challenge
UX Writing Challenge: Day 7
Scenario: A sports fan is at a wedding while their favorite team is playing against their arch-rivals. Their team scores.
Challenge: How would you, quickly, let the sports fan know about the latest play, the current score, and the key players? Write it.
Headline: 30 characters max
Body: 45 characters max
The scenario that we saw on day 2 was writing a promotion for an app to attract a potential user to download the app. In this scenario, the user is already using the app but you need to make sure that he made the right choice in choosing your app.
There are thousands of apps out there for sports fans but for an user to use your app, you should be special. In this scenario, you should get creative and give the user the information he is looking for in less number of characters.
In order to write the solution for this scenario, let us go a step ahead and select a sport, two teams and a player. I am from India and Cricket is a very big sport in my country, so I am choosing Cricket as my sport of choice. Let’s take India vs England test match. My favourite player is MS Dhoni. So, for my solution, I am going to give update regarding batting of MS Dhoni against England team.
The Solution
Headline: Dhoni is near to century.
Body:
Score: 137–4 (62 overs)
Dhoni: 94 (41 overs)
In this scenario, I chose the body not as a paragraph instead I displayed a small and important data that can be used as an update for a cricket fan. Typically, scores are displayed a little different, for me as an end user, this is what I look for, so wrote the body accordingly. Depending upon the sport, you can choose which data can be important to the end user and send the notifications accordingly.
Thank you reading the article. Have a nice day ahead. See you in the next one.
